clutch fluid

hey guys,

whats happening round these parts haven't been here much.

my question for today is where is the clutch fluid located?

as i drove home it became progressively harder to shift down gears and by the end of it it wants to stall if im stationary and i gear with clutch pressed in.

thanks guys

In the engine bay, driver's side at the firewall.

Sounds like you've got a bad master or slave cylinder for your clutch. What's probably happening is when you press the pedal, you're pushing leaking fluid out, and sucking air back in when you release the pedal.

Check both cylinders for any signs of leaking fluid. To check the master cylinder, you have to look up from under the dash with a flashlight.

^ Exactly wht he said. To check for a leaking master cylinder you may have to pull back the carpet underneath the clutch and brake pedals. Most often, if you have a leaky clutch master cylinder, the fluid winds up underneath the carpet in that area.

Also, if the master cylinder resevoir is empty, adding fluid (use DOT 3 brake fluid) may allow you to get the car from point A to point B, if you can't fix this yourself.
