2nd Generation rotors?

Hi All,

Whenever I brake I get a slight shaking from the front end and I can feel it all the way up to the steering wheel. It is more notable if I am braking going down hills. Anyway, I am trying to figure out if this might be a warped rotor as my mechanic suggested. Has anyone ever had this problem?

By the way, I had my mechanic replace the sway bar bushings and control arm bushings so it shouldn't have anything to do with that.

I already bought brake pads but before I go spend more $ for the rotors I would like to be sure. Thanks All!

Yes, either replace your rotors or have them resurfaced...that will take care of your front end shimmy.

Those are the classic signs of a warped front brake rotor. Have both the front rotors resurfaced, if there is enough meat left on them, or replace them with new ones.

its a camry issue though, no matter how many times you redo the rotors it happens in a little while again. my original rotor got resurfaced i think 3 times.. (max limit) then i got new ones (factory) same issue, didn't bother resurfacing and just sold them and got another (aftermarket) and in a couple months.. well its back! ><!

Check your caliper slide pins to make sure they are not frozen. A rusted and frozen caliper slide pin could cause the caliper to not release when applied. That would always put some brake pad pressure on a rotor, causing the rotor to get hot and warp.
