2nd Generation A 140L transmission

Can I please get some advice on how to identify the A140L transmission? I need one for my ST172/SV21 Camry and do not want to buy the wrong unit. Thanks

if the car doesn't have the PWR/NORM button then it's A140L .. and it usually say so on the firewall which tranny the car has... as for looking at just the tranny i'm not so sure what the tell signs are other than the badge on the tranny

A140e has speed sensor with 2 wires on the axle side, while A140L has alrm-bell like cover [governer cover] at this location without wires sticking out.

I have the A 140E.

When i got the car, the button was up. [Manual]
And when the button is pressed it is in [Power] setting.

Whats the difference?
Which is better to drive in?
