2nd Generation Questions about timing belt job on '90 3SFE

Ok, so last weekend my timing belt broke while driving on the Interstate, and today I started on the replacement job. I have a few questions so far:

I can't seem to find a way to get the engine mount completely off so I can remove the first timing cover. There's still the silver mount that's attached to the engine by two bolts underneath it, but those bolts are pretty hard to get to.

I tried jacking up the engine a few inches to get to them, but that didn't seem to work too well. I'm worried that I might damage the other motor mounts by doing this (if I haven't already )

Any tips on removing that mount piece and getting a good view of the timing belt? I need to replace the water pump as well, but at this point it seems nearly impossible to reach that far down...

...just use a long extension on the ratchet/socket from underneath the car...not that bad.

haha you're right, that was fairly easy. thanks though.

now I'm having a hard time with the crankshaft pulley, as it seems most people do. I can't get the center bolt off for the life of me. I've been using a strap wrench and an impact gun but it still won't come off. Any tips?

And just to be clear, the bolts I'll need to pull it off are 6mm x 70 , right?

..my impact gun couldnt do it either...i used the starter...just barely bump it to brake it free...wedge the rachet/socket in position on the center bolt so it cant move and bump the starter...you'll hear a loud crack but no damage will result.

It took me 4 trials 15 seconds each of impact gun operating; each blow moves the bolt head a little, more blows will do the job.
The $#@! previous owner who used starter trying to loose the bolt damaged the flexplate and starter on my car.
The strap or chain wrench will spun out the rubber between pulley hub and belt rim.(Was done once to my friend's car by the pig in Toyota of Cerritos}.

thanks for the input everyone. I think I'm done working on it for the week. Since I won't be needing the car for anything in the near future, I'm taking my time fixing it. But I'll try the impact gun a little bit more and see if I can coerce the damn thing off.

OK, so I got the belt installed, but it still won't start. It turns over just fine.

I pulled out one of the plugs and I got a spark, and after keeping my foot down on the pedal while cranking it, I did smell gasoline.

When changing the belt, I lined up the crank and cam pulleys to TDC, or at least pretty close to it. It might have been a tooth off or something, but nothing serious enough to cause the car to not start.

So, I'm out of ideas. Can anyone help me out here?

With 2 teeth off the engine will not start;
Remove the covers and re-check the belt timing.
