Its REALLY annoying when you are relaxing with the door open and the radio on to have the door chiming. Its like a beep for a heart machine at the hospital.
Anyone know where this is and how i could stop it (is it as easy as cutting the wire to the speaker?)
Chimes while the radio is on doesnt matter if its in accesory or on.
You mean that it still chimes when it is on 'ON' too?
Hmm....that something different. All the cars I'vedriven, if you put it on 'ON' (not starting the car), it doesn't chim when driver door is open. Just that all the dash lights are on.

If you dont believe me ill take a video of it.
My car is wierd like that. Door closed = chimer off, door open = chimer on
Also my interior light only goes on with the drivers door open, and not when you open any other doors. Is this normal?
I hooked up a small rocker switch to the driver side door plunger switch on my Integra. Flipping the switch bypasses the ground on the door switch and the car thinks the door is closed. So then my domelight turns off, but so does the beeper. I mounted the switch down low in the plastic trim right behind the door. You could cut a rectangular hole and mount a switch near the bottom of your B-pillar trim.
I can't remember what the switch terminals look like on the old Camrys, but on my Integra, the door plunger switch has a single wire from the chassis harness connected to a spade terminal on the switch. I didn't have to cut any wires. I just attached that chassis harness wire to one side of my new switch, and ran another new wire from my switch to the factory door switch. Very simple.

That isn't normal...unless somebody messed with it. All the cars I've driven (Camry '85, Camry '01, Camry '96, Camry '97, Cressida '87, Corolla '98, Murano '05, Versa '07) has the interior light going on when any of the doors are open.

Any ideals what could cause this? I'm blank...
An 80 year old man owned the car before me, so it wasnt messed with.
The funny part is that my friends' 1991 Camry does that too with the overhead light. And when you turn it to "on" it will do a few beeps then stop. Or atleast it should.
I would like to know where that door beeper is too so I can shut it off.
Does anyone know where its located ?
