If that isn't closing completely you will be getting some coolant being allowed into the heater exchange in the cabin and, therefore, heat.
I'm not sure how a mal functioning blend door would affect the situation. Also, if you have outside air coming in it passes over the heater exchange and pass more heat into the cabin until you are able to shut off the coolant so it may be better to shut this off until you fix the other problem.

Heh i have the same problem. The AC worked before i got the car, and i went to use the AC for the first time 2 weeks after i got the car, and no matter what setting the heat is in AC or not, hot air just comes blarring out and its annoying the piss outta me cause it was cold once.
Either the freon or w/e is escaping through a slow leak? or i have the problem listed above, maybe ill check it 2m.
