87 Camry Park Brake adjust help...

Hey,

Just replaced rear shoes on 1987 Camry. Everything back together, bled system and had NO park brake tension. Read manual, found PB adjustment nut in console. Tightened nut all the way down but still have very little PB when fully engaged. Looked under vehicle but didn't see anything to adjust for the PB, ie like domestic cars.

Any ideas what I missed? Acts like there is not enough tension on the cable from the tensioner in the console to where it splits under the car.

Appreciate any ideas.

Safety & blue skies,

DJ

I'm sorry, I'm not going to be of much help. This happened to me once but I forget what the exact problem was. I had hooked up something wrong in the drum brake. I believe that it was one of the springs but it may have been that self-adjusting mechanism. I wound up taking both drums off again and examining everything closely. Once I found the culprit it worked.

Luck,
Kep
