ok,sry for the size but i took them with my phone..after washing the old girl.
bought the car back in may @ 117235 miles, had a few probs b4 i actually drove it.

changed the distributor cap, plugs and a fusible link and thts about it.

the car also has an oil leak somewhere on the head,i was told it would cost around $400 to fix it

few questions tho: 1- is it safe to buy those bolt on air intake kits from ebay and would there be anything i would have to change?

2- wheels...whats the best to buy? i want something like 16's or 17's.

thanks for ur time and advice.

Chris

Welcome to the ToyotaNation family!

Thats one nice Gen2. How much you got it for? If I had more space (and money), I would love to get a Gen2 LE with basket weaves. White with Maroon interior.

As for your questions, I'll leave them for other more knowledgeable people.

bkbjan,

You have a nice clean 89' Camry there!!! If I were you I'd stay stock and just keep up the maintenance and you should be fine. Based on your earlier postings don't get involved into fancy air filters as I don't really believe it'll increase your performance.

My 89' Canry in the white is entirely stock and with 230K on my old lady it runs just fine. I do use Mobil 1 synthetic pretty much since bought new. I just had a major service done on mine so it's ready to sing to the 260K service!!!!

On your car for the best possible MPG I would switch to a synthetic oil of your choosing maybe in the 5W-30 range and keep the throttle body ( every year )clean with a fresh air filter every six months. Once per month keep the tires to about 30-32 lbs and every 3 months a big bottle of Techron in the gas tank.

You got a winner there so keep it clean dude. :-)
