Exclamation My modified Toyota Camry Hydrogen Hybrid! (PICTURES)

Hi guys,

I just finished a huge mod that I've been working on for a few weeks!

It's a Hydrogen generator! Basically it takes electricity from the battery, runs it through some stainless steel plates that are in water, splits the H2o up into HHO or two hydrogen molecules and one oyxgen molecule. The HHO is in a gas forum and gets fed into the air intake manifold.

So the air intake is taking in a regular dose of oxygen and some flammable hydrogen mixed in. Hydrogen is about 3x as flammable as gas, and most engines are 25% efficient. So the hydrogen aids in a more complete burn of the fuel.

The end result? More power, increased gas milage, less emissions, oh and the coolness factor!

It consumes about 8 amps when cold. Should be more like 10-15 when warmed up a bit (because water becomes more conductive when its hotter). It makes over .5 liters per minute of Hydrogen and Oxygen gas, should be more like 1 liter per minute when its warmed up...

I will be testing the MPG increase. I just installed it last night and went for a 10 minute test drive. I'll likely have MPG figures available tonight!

View some pictures!

aside from the wiring for the switch, that is truly amazing! where's your water tank?

@ Justanotherasian,

The water is inside the two black containers with wires attached to them. 3" ABS pipe about 10" tall holds about 600ml of water.

And the switch is kind of ghetto for now. I tried experimenting with using a relay and stuff, but could never get anything to work. I'll try again later, but for now this will do the job, just won't look as nice...

Awesome. I think this has to be the first Gen2 Camry that has this on the forums.

I'm really curious about the MPG figures now since we're all trying to try maximize our gas during these times.

That would be fine

IF

It wasn't a flaming big time pyramid bullshit SCAM!

MY MY MY... the shit people will fall for.

Hydrogen generation in your car is a joke. You will not get better fuel economy with your junior mad scientist erector set under your hood. It is a scientific impossibility. Hydrogen generation on such a small scale USES more energy than it produces.

Believe what you want, but until you do 100+ hours of research like I have.... you don't have a case.

Science says in the law of thermodynamics says that you can't get more energy out than you put in. Thats totally correct, and I'm not claiming to get out more energy than I put in.

However this is NOT an issue of thermodynamics. This is a chemical process that takes place in your engine. Hydrogen makes the gas burn more completely, it burns more of the gas vapors because of hydrogens flamable properties.

You can think its a joke all you want, but I challenge you to do more research and do some testing like I have...

You can do a MILLION hours of research and bullshit will still be bullshit.

Lots of luck.

I already showed you the research that says the gas is already burning completely (98-99%), there just isn't enough "more" there.

Research = watching infomercials on youtube.

Like many others, I also wish this were some sort of magic solution to better fuel economy - but it is not. Similar experiments were done as far back as the 1940s (and into the 1960s and 70s) and all had the results: FAILURE

Even if it did increase the efficiency of burning gasoline, there isn't enough room for improvement to see any tangible result. With modern computation, and electronics, the internal combustion engine is a very efficient consumer of petrol.

Go ahead and think you can out smart the rocket scientists... but I'm not bettin' on ya!

You might wanna get online and order that flux capacitor.

Zembonez you have presented your case, and I have presented mine. I request that you no longer comment in my thread. You have stated it will not work, and I have stated it will work. There is no use arguing with you any longer.

-----------------

To anyone else who is interested in my progress. I drove 20 miles to my sisters house just a few minutes ago. There was a noticeable increase in power, and I felt like I had to hardly press the gas pedal to get going to my normal 60mph cruise speed. When I go home, later tonight I will drive another ~20 miles then refill at the exact same pump at the same Texico gas station that I filled up with. So that should give me a general idea if my 26MPG average has increased at all. Later on I'll test it on a longer trip.

Leave the kid alone. He has done some cool work here whether you believe it works or not, and one flame should have been sufficient.

Besides the toggle switch, the rest looks really good. Maybe think about hiding the switch in one of the panels in the dash thats not being used (like next to the wheel or the buttons around the gauges etc)

Flaming once is enough, arguing is stupid and pointless. You already proved your point no reason to go on and be an ass clown.

You people sure do have thin skins and sure do think you have the right to tell everybody else how to speak. Do as you wish and so will I... without your help.

It's a forum... not a girl scout camp.

EDIT: and I am not going to poke at jason anymore... fair enough?

Thanks for your comment JMSports. The toggle switch is just a temporary solution. I tried hooking it directly up the engines ignition, but I think I have to remove the steering wheel to get the two plastic pieces apart in order to get at the ignition. Any suggestions?

Then I can hook up my relay and have the generator triggered via key ignition.
