Exhaust Leak

My question is, does a rusted area in the exhaust ruin fuel economy and almost stall my car out from a standing start?

I noticed a louder sounding exhaust after i got my car back from getting a new gas tank and fuel sender leads, and fuel straps installed in my 90 Camry DX. The sound was coming from the center of the car, and was getting loud and noticeable. Now the car bogs and gets ready to stall when i take off from stops and my MPGs are going way down.

What else should i be checking for low end accel problems?

As the fuel tank was replaced the performance problem can be fuel pressure related;
the external exhaust leak should not cause poor engine performance; however broken INNER pipe of two-walled exhaust, located in the center section of exhaust system [87 CA and 87 and later 49 state] can in theory add some restriction to the system . In my car it just rattles.

Mine rattles when i accel but its always done that. Im just curious of my my car bogs when i tap the gas to a little higher RPM above idle. The car does fine past that bog but i do notice significant power loss in accel.

Maybe the lines are too large and theres not enough pressure built up to keep the gas flowing? or maybe too much pressure from the lines being smaller?

I dont know, i wish i had my camera, id show you pics of the fuel tank

Oh, and the welded bars the attatch to the rubber peices and then attatch to a metal mount which bolts onto the undercarriage is a REALLY stupid design. Thats were the leak is. Right were the bar welds to the pipe, its all rotted. Other then that the pipe is fine.
