door keylock

hey all I've tried to search for this but didn't find have much luck finding the actual answer.

My 91 Camry drivers door lock functions fine but feels really stiff. Whenever I go to unlock I can hear a strange snapping noise (sounds almost like my key is grinding against it as I turn to unlock).

I sprayed some wd40 inside the lock hoping to ease it up and it does but as soon as the lubrication is gone it feels really stiff again.

Should I worry about this? Any Advice?

Everytime I go to unlock my door I hear that grind and I feel like I'm damaging my doorlock but I'm not 100% sure.

2nd Generation Pull the panel

The panel needs to be pulled off and look inside to see what it is hitting.

Maybe..Just the lock mechanism
or
It is hitting something because the clip has come loose from overuse.

I have just bent the clip back straight so it holds the lock mechanism tight.

While you have the panel off it would be wise to lithium greaase moving parts including the window frames & rollers.

DO NOT ADD GREASE TO THE WINDOW GROOVES. it collects dirt and makes things worse!
