Newbie w/ 87 Camry 2.0 auto :), change diff fluid?

Hi there, just got an 87 Camry LE, auto w/ 96K original miles , owned by one family, great maint., clear coat is peeling a bit, a few small dings but nice for commuting. Valve seals were done w/ head gasket as car sat for so long, newer radiator, alt, and assuming timing belt was done when head was. Runs great, plugs, cap, rotor look like new, I did a tranny sevice this week, all shifts and runs well. Fuel filter next tank as I put in some Seafoam this tank and B12 the tank before. Don't know what mpg is yet. Oil clean, just smogged. I do need to get a stereo as the stock one was stolen long ago. Will I need to change transaxle fluid or is it part of the auto tranny fluid?? Interior is perfect. Stats say 22 city and 31 hiway for mpg, sure beats my Yukon at 14-16 mpg w/ 350! I'm also thinking of staying with 10/30 (N. CA.)dyno motor oil every 5K, always like Castrol and a Purolator filter. Any other maint. hints would be great. Thanks

if you're not slamming into gears or any other problems i'd just leave the tranny fluid alone.. or just do a drain and fill.. there is a diff fill hole that's above the cross member.. remember to use OEM oil filters that's all i can tell you

When you change the differential fluid remember to make sure the fill cap can be loosened before you open the drain plug. Like Atobe said, drain and fill is probably the best way to go with the tranny fluid. I would do it (the two quart drain & fill) at each oil fill for the next 4 or 5 times to get a complete fluid change out.

As you get time, go over the suspension parts. You want the bushings nice and tight. Brake fluid should be changed (read up on the proper technique if you have ABS).

Purolator filers are really good. No need to buy OEM from the stealerships.
