You can get an air filter, (also need a Toyota Bracket to mount it) removing the air box, makes the car sound loud... will post some pictures on my website soon..
Cool, will that give me performance boost, im looking to adding some more pow wow to my care with out spending thousands. Everything in my car is stock.
I am not sure on the performance upgrade, but if you have this mod installed, when you put you're foot down, Trust me, you will get attention..
If you want performance, I would first look at putting a sports exhaust on, along with replacing the manifold with extractors, if you can get the flow of you're engine to a more high level, you would notice a 10-15% increase in power.
Hey guys, sorry I don't have any Gen2 specific mods besides your general mods (ie. intake, exhaust, wheels, bodykit)
I just wanted to welcome the both of you.
We, well, my parents have a Gen2 (which I don't dare modding), I have a Gen3 and we're about to get our hands on a Gen4 (which I doubt they'll let me mod). Do you see a pattern
ProCarParts.com sells filter/adapter kits and indiglo guage kits for Gen2 camrys, I believe elegantcam from the forums pointed me there about a month ago. I was feeling a little ricey and bought both - they arrived Friday, and I installed the filter yesterday... It stays nice and quiet as long as you're not going WOT all the time, but it sounds nice and mean if you want it to. Installation was very simple - remove the stock air box (I think it involved all of 6 bolts), use the nuts you removed to attach the adaptor on, slide the filter on and tighten the hose clamp.
You can almost see it above the battery in this picture:
The indiglos are going on today when I finally wake up enough to do work on the car...
Anywho, my next plans are a transmission upgrade and a 3S-GTE swap... after I have a little more *umph* in the car, I'll make it look better.
