2nd Generation 1987 Camry - Location of Light Failure Sensor?

So my brake lights stopped working in my 87 camry (4-cyl, 4 door sedan), I replaced the bulbs, checked the fuses, and installed a new stop light switch, all to no avail.

Now I have been tipped off that a "light failure sensor" located somewhere on the driver's side of the trunk can cause the brake lights to fail if it fails, but for the life of me I cannot find it. From what I have heard and read it is a white or yellow small box in the left side of the trunk, under the carpeting. I have looked for it extensivley and cannot seem to find it.

Any tips/ideas?

Here's a thread that might help you:

No brake light

If you find the bracket that holds the spare tire jack in the trunk on the passenger side, look in the same area on the driver's side. You have to pull off the side panel there. If you have an LE model with the power antenna, it's right next to that.
