The steering wheel SUCKS big donkey.

any of these i guess as the aftermarket hub for the early camry's also fit them too........
TOYOTA 84-87 COROLLA,84-95 MR2,86-93 CELICA 2WD,87-90CAMRY, 87-96 PICK UP,88-91 COROLLA GTS,89-97 COROLLA,90-98 TERCEL, 90-96 4RUNNER,91-96 LAND CRUISER,92-97 PASEO. straight from the ebay listing for the hub. prolly look nicer to buy an aftermarket wheel and hub.

Oh snap, the paseo one fits?
I love the 3 spoke, smaller wheel. So I will get one soon.

I had this Grant wheel in my '91, then transplanted it into my '90 wagon. The wheel & hub was around $130, IIRC. Definately not cheap. It was a nice comfortable wheel & felt good, I loved it! But the smaller size totally blocked the top of the speedo.

Before I buy a Paseo steering wheel, what are all the parts that are needed to do the swap?

Should just need the wheel and horn button. If it's the same hub, then it *should* just bolt right on. I don't really think there's anything additional you can remove or need to remove from the Paseo. You will definately need to take a wheel puller with you when you go to get it though.

EDIT: I hate to state the obvious, but don't mess with one that's got an airbag.

Do a Google image search. Basically, it's a tool that has a main center bolt and 2 or 3 secondary bolts that thread into what you're pulling. You'll need a 2-bolt puller for a steering wheel. When you remove the horn button, there will be a large nut to remove. That's all that holds the steering wheel on. But once that's removed, the wheel still isn't going to budge, because it's on a tapered and splined shaft. The secondary bolts in your puller will bolt into holes in the steering wheel. The large center bolt will center on the main threaded steering shaft. When you tighten the center bolt, it will put enough pressure on the steering wheel hub to pop it loose. Might sound complicated, but it's a very simple procedure. You should be able to get a wheel puller at just about any auto parts store for pretty cheap.

Here's some pics:

This is a simple home-made one:

Here's a cheap one you might find at an auto parts store
(probably about $10)

Here's another one shown in use:
The 2 outer bolts are threaded into holes in the steering wheel, and he's tightening the center bolt to pull the wheel off.

glad you stepped in there homegrown. cos being here in aus it's a bit hard to say where to get those kinda things. i've never needed one but then i usually end up clocking myself in the head taking them off. i'm going for a new wheel soon and if it wasn't for someone else asking i would've just kept forgetting about it. homegrown is right about the airbags. even if the battery is disconnected you can get a nasty surprise.

Glad to help, PaulyJay
Yeah, I've tried removing wheels without a puller, but it's definately NO fun.

Do you need a Toyota SST steering wheel puller, or can you use any?

Only asking as I've ruined a harmonic balance/crank pulley from using a universal puller; instead of the genuine which would've got it off without destroying it. This was NOT on a Toyota, but the same rules could apply. I'm very paranoid and like to be sure.

And paulyjay, you can pick up a puller at most auto accessory stores like Autobarn or Super Cheap (universal ones).

I used a generic puller when I changed wheels on my Camrys. I believe the Camry wheel has (2) 8MM tapped holes in the frame for pulling.
