Whoopee...Power Steering Pump Replacement

I have a 91 Camry, 4 cyl, auto trans. with 210K on it. I almost have my car running trouble free. The only problem I have now is a power steering pump leak. Every time I fix this leak in the system it reappears somewhere else in the system a couple of weeks later at the weakest point. Everything has been fixed in the system now except the pump and it has a slow leak. I found some threads on this. One contains a fabricated tool for bolt removal by Doctor J. After replacing the high pressure hose already, I figure it is easier to drop the pump out with the hoses attached and put the new one in with the hoses pre-attached. I think I should prime the new pump with fluid before I put it in. Other than a lack of working room down there does anyone know of other difficulties in doing this job? I know to take the tire and apron off and do this from under the car. The Chiltons says to remove the cross member(I think this is BS). This thread will probably open a can of worms...LOL

Actually, it does make the job easier if you remove the lower cross member, it gives you a lot more room to work with. Since you are going to remove it with the high pressure hose, that simplify the job without having to fight with the fitting when the pump is in the car.

Without crossmember removal the fitting for the large low pressure hose will not let it to clear the frame rail, therefore crossmember must be removed.

Okay, thank you. I wanted answers from the best and you guys are. I have dropped a camry crossmember before on a friends car, so I am no stranger to it. If you have any other advice, please feel free to add your wisdom and experience.
