2nd Generation 87 LE brake question HELP

Just replaced front pads, and now have a squeal when I hit pedal from around 30mph upward. Not enough to stop driving it, I just get strange looks at stoplights. (specially from those who drive black and white cars. )

Here's where I am.

Cannot hear any noise when rotating tire on either side manually. (spinning it with the lug wrench)
Possibility that I need to put light pressure on the pedal to just touch the pads to the rotors while I do this, hard to do alone, may need to hire a neighbor kid for that, problem is it's rare to find one that'ud understand 'light pressure' lol

This car had no anti squeal plates, didn't think that would be an issue because the old pads didn't make any noise. ?

Possibility that the replacement wear indicators are oversize. (thinking about throwing them away) ?

Replaced old spring clips that hold the pads in case one of them was weak.

Checked backing plate for bent spots. none.

Checked rotor for warpage with a micrometer. nothing really out of true.

What am I missing? or forgetting?

Allen I have had similar problem with my 79 Supra when I used raybestos prostop pads form Pep Boys.
Is the rotor surface looks mirror like?
If so you may need to try different brand name of pads.
If rotor does not look as described above, the noice can be reduced by applying black rtv to the pad to caliper contact points on the outer pad and hi-temp antiseize on the piston to pad contacting surface.

I cannot be specific what pads to use as I found brand new OEM toyota pads on the junkyard, and put them on my car. [no shims eather but I used procedure described above]

Thanks for answering.

I did use a different brand this time. Seems Advance has changed their distributor on the cheap pads. these were Wearever semi metallics.
This was the first time I did any brake work on this car and was afraid I'd missed something that was Toyota specific.
I scuffed up the rotors and pads and 6'ed the warning clips yesterday. It hasn't made any noise since, (50 miles+-) so I guess it was one of those. Leaning toward the pads & rotor surface although it was a high pitched squeal kinda like the warning sound but much louder than I've heard on other cars.
(keepin my fingers crossed)

I didn't know about the RTV and anti seize. I'll have to remember that.
Thanks again
