1st & 2nd Generation (1983–1986 & 1987-1991)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1983-1986 & 1987-1991.
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I'm a Gen2 owner, 1990 V6 Camry auto trans. I just had it safetied for Saskatchewan after 3 years in the well meaning but somewhat neglectful hands of my daughter. After about $2K in bodywork and repairs it looks great considering the 400+K on the clock. This is my second 1990 Camry and it must have been a great vintage year. My minor mods include a K&N air filter,
rear deck spoiler and a Midnight Silver paint job.
Heh heh Welcome aboard, BHSmout. I have to agree with these guys...we demand that everyone provide us with pics. I'm especially curious to know what body work you had done for the $2Gs. My 1990 V6 looks immaculate from the front bumper to the rear doors, but the tail end is "full o' cheese" as a friend of mine likes to say. The rear arches and trunk lid are rotted and it hurts my soul.
Aside from the paint job, did you have new quarters welded on? I'm preparing for that job myself, once my nickel'n'dime delivery job adds up.
Oh, and 1990 may very well have been a golden year for the V6s, because mine is just about to reach 400,000km like yours has. Smooth as silk...

Sorry guys, I'm not sure how to post pics yet. Also, the prairies are in the midst of a minus 20 degree Centigrade deep freeze and a bone numbing minus 40 with wind chill factor. Forgive me if I am not too quick to venture outside. Body work included two new front quarter panels and 2 rear fender wheel wells plus paint.
When we're out of the icebox I'll do what I can about pictures.

Yeah, I think you sent us your weather...now we've got 35cm of snow and 50kmh winds whipping it all up. Good thing both the Camry and the Celica are unstoppable in the snow. But next time, feel free to keep the prairie winter on the prairies!
