Australia New Motor

Hi Peoples,

I'm looking for directions to where I can purchase a brand new motor for my '89 camry here on the Gold Coast, Australia.

Thanks.

Chris.

Brand new? Your car would be a 2nd Gen Camry, right?

I highly doubt you can get new motors anymore, but you'd be able to pick up a second hand at the wreckers or even a JDM front cut (which would have much less kms and will be in better condition), although becuase it is so old, it could be hard to find a JDM.

Look for wreckers in the Yellowpages, or try googling "wreckers gold coast"

there are companies that build reman motors but it'll cost more than your car so just get a used motor

why do you need a new engine? the engine in mine is a reco'd one from the local wreckers (donor car had been in an accident bout 2 weeks after the reco so it was a good deal for the previous owner of my car). look around the wreckers for a low km's engine if a swap is in order, but it's just a minor issue then just fix the small issue. dunno what it's like up there, but parts are cheaper here than a whole block.
