hi all, i'm also a newbie here so don't rattle me too hard,i have a gen 2(1990)3s-fe
and latley while driving all my exterior & interior lamps flash when the engine is running,i thought it was a voltage regulator
problem so i changed the alternator & it's still doing it,is the regulator controlled by the ECU? am i the only one who has had this problem? does anyone know where i can get a charging circuit schematic (preferably from a Toyota manual,Hanes bites) thanks for all your help.

Do you mean flashing as in flashing on and off? That is what "flashing" means.

I am assuming you mean DIMMING. If that is the case, then it could either be a weak bettery or a weak alternator or both. I suggest taking it to a shop to test the whole system. Toyota even does it on tuneups if you ask them to. It shouldn't cost much at all.

Good luck.

AKA "dimming." Flashing would be on-off-on...

Anyway, read my last post for the problem. Battery/alternator. Get the system checked out like I said.
