Wheel Bearing Install

I got the wheel bearing for my 90 camry wagon yesterday. Is there anything else I will need for the job? Its for the drivers front if that matters.

Do you mean what kind of parts do you need? Or tools?

You might also need the seals and hub. And a press to press the bearing out and back in.

You may have to get the seals from a dealer.

Check this out for the seals, page 7 on: http://camrystuff.com/manuals/Gen2/F...Suspension.pdf.

this is for a gen 3, but it is really close to what you will be doing.

DIY - Front wheel bearing R&R

also oreilly auto parts

outer front - part number 225220
inner front - part number
4899

these are for the 4 banger. i don't know if you have a 4 or 6.

I had to take everything to get pressed out and in b/c i don't have a press. everything is was done with hand tools. oh, and air tools make this job tons easier.
I did the fronts and back. the fronts are more involved for sure. do both while your there.

good luck!

On The diagram it has outside oil seal, going in before the Bearing Inner Race (outside). I thought that the Inner race was already in the bearing.

Dont forget to replace your muffler bearings, and get blinker fluid!

The bearing is pressed into the knuckle. You will need access to a press to remove and install the bearing.

If doing the job for the first time give yourself plenty of time.

The bearing comes with both races.

I got the knuckle off a lot faster then I expected. It took me like 10 min.

The bearing is pressed out, I'm just waiting for the seal kit that I had to order last night.

The inner carriages of the old bearing were all destroyed hence the grinding that I was hearing.

Pretty common when the bearing seized.

BTW, pull the strut outward before you tighten the two bolts for the strut, that should keep the camber within spec, unless something is bent.

How far outward, just move it out and attach the knuckle?

Put the bolts in, but apply outward pressure to the strut while tightening them.
