motor swaps for sv21

hi i was wondering what motors other than 3s-gte 'can' be swapped for 3sfe,
will any of these listed fit and work...
4age,4agze,sr20 fwd, sr20det fwd, 3sge... if any will work what is the cheapest with moderation of easy cheap modification... 3sgte is last resort theyre 3 to 4 grand a motor.

any others that can work please list in reply

3sge will work..5sfe.. any S will bolt up to the stock motor mounts anything else and u'd have to make your own

Good luck trying to find a 4agze. I'm pretty sure they're pretty rare and will cost the same, if not more....probably more, C'mon the rolla guys will be all over them as it's a easier drop-in XD. I don't think they are as simple as the 3S-GTE as they were designed for a corolla/MR2 for the 4agze, so more modification will be required to mount it, not sure about the MR2 app. Then the harness :O Likewise with the SR20's, and they may be even harder to do the wiring since it's different company.

Don't even think about using a motor from a different manufacturer...

Reasonable motor swaps:
3s-ge (transverse mounted versions)
3s-gte
5s-fe
2vz-fe
3vz-fe
1mz-fe
3mz-fe

This is a reasonably complete list... there are others that will fit, but they will generally be much more work than those listed.

theres an r32 gtst(obviously not a toyota) thats running a 2jz in my area and its working great. my mate has a v8 monaro(usa gto) and he dragged that car and got killed off the lights(v8 has 600hp atw).

but how i see it if ive got the money and a great mechanic for conversion then whats the problem...

but what would would be the best motor from any manufacturer thats FWD

3sgte is my last resort

i want to be different from the pack and flogging someone by my sleeper camry would put a huge grin on my face

ur wrong inaus we can buy a car with one in unlicensed for anywhere from 100 bucks to 1000 bucks just a matter of a good eye and patience. i have mates that do it all the time

Well, i haven't seen any in Sydney. But then again, i'm not looking really hard. But surely not for $100?!!?!? My mate bought an old 'rolla with a blue top 4a-ge for $500 and the body was a real beater with stuff going wrong here and there, but the engine was in good condition. But he did it to (possibly) rebuild and drop into his 'rolla with a 4-af. If you were curious.....
