What about the dome light? The light turning on when you open the door and off when you close sounds like a possible way to wire it, even though you lose that timer delay thing that the rings usually have.

Got the ring from an ES250--pretty much the same as the Camry LE models. I used my door switch wire as the negative trigger. It only comes on with the driver's door, not the passengers'--it's okay, I think it'd look weird if it did anyway. Note: when you open up the door switch, you'll see that it's a red and black wire or something like that, but after that, it connects to a connector that converts it to a solid red wire near the driver's kick panel once you remove the plastic door sill to reach the blue wire loom encasing. I just wired my constant to my radio constant because the ring light won't take that much power from it. As for that plastic trim circle surrounding the keyhole between the top and lower steering columns, I didn't use the one from the ES but used my stock one instead.

I also changed my cluster to LEDs:

atobe, I used these:

http://superbrightleds.com/specs/bulb_specsHP360.htm

The first ones, cool white with a 360 degree beam pattern. My camera might have made it brighter than it is--not sure, as I don't have the cluster to compare again haha--but it's pretty bright in itself. Hot spots aren't really an issue and I think it's either due to our cluster design technology and how the LEDs don't have an 'upfront' beam but rather a side spread type. I'm really liking the clarity and sharpness that the cluster gives off now--way more better than the pale incandescent green.

Haha thanks kesando, I've always liked how the Lexus clusters looked. Charlie, there are four bulbs, type 158.
