2nd Generation Dying tranny ?

Hello everyone im back with a new problem, I think my tranny is dying as it slips in and out of drive for the first 10 minutes of driving. It stalls out too for the first 10 minutes.

So if im driving around town in the morning and come to a stop at a light or something i have to shift it into neutral otherwise it has a good chance of stalling.

It doesnt matter if I let it warm up for 2 minutes or a half hour. As soon as i actually start moving Thats when the problems begin. On the off chance during these first 10 minutes that i dont shift it into neutral and remain stoped at a stop light and the car DOESNT stall out, when i try to get moving it revs up for a second then the trans KICKS into gear and i start moving.

But after 10 minutes of driving everthing is perfect, shifts are smooth no bangs and im always in the right gear even when i floor it.

What could my problem be ? A bad sensor Bad fluid ? Bad tranny ?
Im stumped here guys any info is much apprciated.

On your shift indicator near the cluster, there's an O/D Off light whenever the overdrive is disengaged. Does this light flash at all? It flashes whenever there's a tranny problem and it has a code stored.

your seals in the trans are letting fluid past when cold. mine does the same thing. i warm mine up on cold mornings for 10 min idling. after that know problems. mine has been doing this since 2003.
the problem totaly disappears in the spring/summer/fall.

as far as your idle problem i don't think they are related.

Try checking your fluid. After your engine gets to sufficient temperatures following a drive, leave the engine running and shift through all the gears and back. Check your fluid--it should be between the two marks labeled 'Hot'.

I put a half a quart in of dexron III and that seems to make the problem go away I will report back in a week let you know how it goes.

One more question where do i get the blower motor resitors that allow the blower to work at different speeds ? all of mine are blown and it only works on high.

Where are the resistors located ? In the engine bay or in the passengers area ?

Yeah it seems like i was low on fluid because the tranny is shifting fine now !

OK sounds good ! I found the resistor guys and it looks rusty and burnt. I need a new one or a good used one from the yards. Hey how does one open up the blower motor itself ? I think its full of lint and dust and i want to clean it out. Anyone know how to open these suckers up ?
