How does the motor feel with that ex manifold and the 5 speed?
My questions exactly...and what difference has the hacked O2 sensor made?

You're lucky, my Aussie cousin...too bad the Japanese marketers didn't treat all Commonwealth markets the same, or we'd have loads more cool goodies like you do (the best example: we didn't get the WRX until 2002. Yes, I said 2002).
I can't even imagine going to a wrecker and pulling that manifold off any old beat-up Camry...in the three years I worked at my local wrecker, I only saw one 3SGE and it was so far gone there was nothing worth salvaging. My point, you ask? I'm one jealous little Canadian!

Wow, 02? That's a major bummer. Couldn't you import it (RHD WRX) as long as it was at least 15yrs(i think) old? My cousin in law did that for his 1990 JDM Skyline GTS-T, but he's in Calgary, so i guess the laws would differ.
Probably making it worse when i say this, but when i was at the wreckers on Sunday, most of the Celica's i saw there (with engines, 3 -5 of them) had the 3S-GE engines with T-VIS as they were older gens; no FE IIRC. But no 3S-GTE either.....i guess they were all taken XD

Which is why I have an '03 WRX instead of a '00 or '01... Oh yeah, and it took until '04 to bring the STi to North America...
The 15 year import law works for Canada, but not for the US. Though, I wonnder if a Canadian legal car can then be later imported to the US... Hmmmm... ....

the old beast goes quite well actually, and i want the stickers on the rear quarter panel as it identifies my car, the steelies will get a respray when i do the whole car, then i'll get chrome trims for em. and the yota centre caps. the O2 sensor was cut before i got her so i don't have a basis for comparison there, the pod filter setup gave the best increases in both performance and economy. i want to cut the shifter, but i don't know how low would be too low. any suggestions? i will be going to the celica 5 speed last. but that's a while yet. i want the shocks/suspension lowered first. the trim is there, but i had it out to fix the cigarette lighter socket. grill has been smashed, getting a new one soon, the cushions on the arm rests were for a practical purpose. mine caved in. and no, the car hasn't been washed. where i work is in the boonies so i have to travel through road works.

even worse, we don't get aussie built cars such as the ford falcon.
there are some cars that should just stay where they are. we love our falcons and commodores, but they wouldn't stand a chance up against your equiv.... mind you there are precedents for aussie cars going overseas. the XR6 Turbo went to Germany, monaro going to the US. etc.

Hey man, with the intake you should have left the stock airbox on and dropped a K&N panel filter in it.. since your only running the stock motor it is recommended that you leave the airbox in or you lose more power with the pod on.. unless you upgrade to a 3S-GTE then you want to chuck on pod on it.. just my 2 cents worth, well keep up the work anyway man!
