Unhappy 88 camry pulsing/knocking after brake job

Just picked up a 88 Camry for $750. Noticed major tire wear on the inside of the front tires along with brakes that were close to being metal on metal. Anyway they stopped fine with no shaking or pulsing through steering wheel or pedal. Went to Oreilly and had my rotors turned installed new pads and lube it up good(caliper spindles as they were a little tight). As soon as i test drove I could feel the pulsing and here a knocking from the front brake area. tried to bed the brakes but it just got worse. Got home and reinstalled checking nut tightness. Still screwed up. Going on the 2nd week and its just horrible. Only while braking and really bad when i brake from highway speeds(loud clunking that dissapates as I slow down). Whats the possibility that oreilly screwed up machining my rotors? Could a bad tie rod end cause this? its just weird that it developed as soon as I put on new brakes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Did you have the rotors turned when on the car?

You did the work yourself?

If they weren't pulsating before, I think this is a strong possibility. Now going back to O'Reily's and proving this is going to be difficult.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replys. Yes I did the work myself. Pretty straightforward. Took rotors off car and had O.Reilly turn them. Guess next step is to take them to a quality machine shop and have them check them out for run out. Not taking another chance on Oreilly(too close to st patty day) I think my pads should be ok. Only 100 mles on them. Or should I just shoot the wind and get some new pads too since these were probably affected by the (maybe) turned-but-still-warped rotors?

The pads should be fine. Just give them a light sanding so they will have a new surface on which to seat properly to the freshly cut rotors.
