1st & 2nd Generation (1983–1986 & 1987-1991)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1983-1986 & 1987-1991.
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Do these items bolt right in to the USDM camry or will I need anything else. I want them because they have projectors in them. I'm sure I can do a nice retrofit into the housing.

What? the holden apollo had exactly the same headlights as the corresponding camry years. never seen a different one. you'd have to replace grill and bonnet skirt as well if they turn out to be different ones. so far as i've seen, there are two different sized head lights, 87-89 were wider, and the 90-91/2 were narrower. as i said before grills and skirting were to suit.

You need the headlights, corner lights, grill and nose piece (between the headlights and hood). It all bolts in just fine.
I have a set on my car, with a JDM bumper to come soon after it is painted:
They do not have projectors, but the ones i have use H4 dual filament main bulbs and H3 driving lights in the center (spot beam pattern, not fogs). It is obviously a RHD beam pattern, but not as blinding in the US as more modern beam patterns. I suggest putting in an upgraded headlight harness when you do the swap to get better light from them.

Charlie, what do u mean by upgraded headlight harnes?
Extra wiring and relays that draw power directly from the battery to get better voltage to the bulbs. You can find decent kits on eBay. You need to re-wire things when you do the conversion from 9004 or H4, so you might as well upgrade while you are in there...

Also is that the jdm Camry bumper or the jdm Vista bumper. I was thinking of doing a vista front end conversion but I like the front end of the camry more so I figured since I want something different I'll go with the apollo lights.

Very nice, Charlie. I'm a big fan of anything distinctive (yet still tasteful). Two thumbs up.
