newbie looking for info.
searched a bit for this problem, didn't see anything that matched. If I missed it, I apoligize.
I have an 88 camry 4cyl, hi-miles, threw a rod, replaced rod & bearings, reassembled & fired it up. Ran well, drove around 2-3 drive cycles over a couple days. Car sat for several days, then cranks like NO compression. eventually, (over the course of the day) kept at it and finally got it to start. I have concluded that the lifters are bleeding down when this old girl sits for more than 24 hrs or so.
Anybody out there have any ideas on why-how it's doing this and thoughts on a cure? TIA
