I'm 17 and I love my 92 SV21 camry, problem is it has done 350 thousand KM's. I've spent over $5000 on both the sound system and 17 inch rims and so now I have decided to put a new engine it in (one with more go then the current) and convert it to manual, I'm thinking a 5SFE. SO PLEASE ALL HELP ME OUT AND GUIDE ME SHOULD I GET THAT OR SOMETHING ELSE????
well i have only got one quote for the 5SFE engine so far and it was $1000 for engine, manual gear box (for conversion) and every thing need to run it. So I have about $2000 to use foor it.

But I cant go turbo, to much trouble for a N/A car, also it's against the law for P platers. But I want something that will basically be ALOT more fun to drive. After the conversion I'd like to add a cat back system, cold air intake, extractors and what ever else I can get for it.
The 5s-fe will only get you 20hp or so more. The manual transmission will definitely help get the power down to the ground though - it will be a bigger performance bump than the motor.
What is the plan for electronics to run that 5s-fe?
You should also think about the 3s-ge in its various forms. They are anywhere from 135hp to 210hp in different forms, rather than 135hp only for the 5s-fe.

I haven't thought about the electronics in truth, so what would you reccomend (being my 1st car and not knowing a everything yet) but in what year models were the 3s-ge engines produced? Also would it be a straight swap or would work need to be done to the engine bay and all that??

thanks for ur help!!
Any engine with an "S" as the second character will bolt in quite easily to your car. You will have to run the complete ECU and wiring from whatever motor you put in the car. If you don't know what you are doing, wiring is the most difficult part of the process.
