Just picked up a set of tc rims for $100. thought it was a great deal into i tried them on, they dont fit at all. Does anybody think i can make this work? If i put spacers on the rims look like they would stick out ridiculously.

This sounds odd to me, shouldn't the TC rims fit right on? I know it sounds a bit dorky, but could you have jacked up your car and test fitted one b4 plunkin' down the c-note?

Your right i should have done that but when i picked up the rims i didnt have my car plus i figured if they didnt fit its only $100 and i could sell them more for that.
It seems odd to me 2 but the rim just seems too deep.
the fronts should work fine. The rear is going to need a wheel adapter.. I believe that ive said
In previous threads that the tc rims wont work..but you went ahead and bought them anyway..
Just look for a 5x100 to 5x100 1" deep wheel adapter pair, they are all over ebay.

Umm actually u never sed that, there where more "i think they should". U said u didnt get them cause they where scratched. And obviously u didnt try putting the rim on the front cause they def do not fit without hitting the strutt tower.

Umm actually i did. My rims are the same specs as the tC rim and mine dont fit so obviously the tC rims dont fit. And there are past threads about other members talking about trying the tC rims and not fitting.
My rims are actually deeper than the tC. the tC are 17x7 and mine are 17x7.5 with the same offset. The fronts fit fine, and the rears rub.

The rims i got are not 17 they are 15 and unless you put low profile tires on them they are not fitting and im not putting low profile on cause i drive in Brooklyn and the city everyday where pot holes are all over the place, i dont fell like changing tires everyday.

Guess ill just sell them and make a profit
Every tC that leaves the production plant leaves with at least 17 inch rims...
These are the 17's:
These are the 18's
These are the 15's but as you notice they arent 5x100, although they are Scion Brand Rims..
Do they have tires on the rims? Are the tires mounted and balanced? If so, what happens when you attempt to put a rim on the front? does the rim sit flush with the brake rotor? what is the rim hitting?
What happens when you put the rim on the rear? is the rim sitting flush with the brake drum?
With the right wheel adapters and spacers the tC rims would work. Spacers cost at most 20 for a set, adapters cost about 60. For the extra money i would just make them work, you already got the rims...and for a great price. The low profile tires might give you a little trouble, so i would step up the sidewall height if you decide to keep them and drive in pothole areas. (when i hit potholes with my 215/40/17ZR's it feels like the car slams the ground hard. It honestly feels like the lip of the rim hit the pavement, i cringe every time i know im just about to roll over one!)
You could even run max air pressure (would be a more uncomfortable ride) for city driving that would ensure the tires dont succumb to the effects of shitty roads. And you can always tell your in NY as soon as you get on our roads. The ride quality of a NY road is the most potholed, uneven pavejob, patches, etc. in the country.
They dont have tires on them but when i just put the rims on the front there is only like a 3 inch gap before it would hit the strut. The back i didnt even bother putting them cause i was pissed off lol. Im guessing the rim sits right on the drum and i think it would hit the fender if they come out any more. Im still not sure what im going to do but ill prob sell them.
I drive on the BQE everyday and if you ever drove on it you will understand how much of a mess it is. Plus by my school i drive on coble stone streets so thats even worse. I dont have the money to keep replacing tires all the time.
Thanks for the advice anyway ill keep you updated. But ill prob look for something on tire rack or something.
how can you not tell whether they were 15" or 17".. big difference in size lolz...
U would think right but it didnt have a tire on them so when i was holding them they didnt seem that much bigger plus i wasnt paying attention. go figure

icic its understandable... well hope you get them on post some pix when you do
i dont mean to bump this up from the dead but i fit tc rims on my car. i too bought some stock 17 tc rims for 150 so not bad and put them on my 88 camry. fits fine but i would like to put spacers on it.
