5SFE All-Trac

Just for clarification (because I've been told it should fit),
will a 5SFE fit into an automatic gen 2 All-trac?

Thanks

Oddly enough, no. The 5s block is missing a few bosses on the back that are used to mount the transfer case.

Really?
that's weird (and really sucks)
Could you think of any alternatives to replace the 3SFE?
I know the 3SGTE, but then I run into the cost issue

You could probably still do the 5s-fe swap, but it would require some welding of brackets 'n stuff. A 2vz/3vz swap has also been done in a Celica Alltrac, but that also required a lot of custom work and a Rav4 transfer case.

JDM 3s-fe's are cheap, why do you want to change motors (unless for a 3s-gte)?

Block problems
One bearing keeps knocking at higher RPM and for some reason, the oil warning light always comes up when we start up, but goes away after a while.
Lately, it's been taking longer to go away though.
I also want some more power, so I'm thinking of buying another all trac, swapping the engine on that, and using it for autocross and/or ice racing.
