Before i go to the junk yard and pull any thing.....
Header interchange ability 3S-GE from same year celica or mr2....
Is the 5S-FE and 3S-GE same header??? 5S-FE = V6 camry right???
If so Gen 2 V6 might be a eaisier find for me......

and i have to take header and cat right???
and just to make extra-sure this is all bolt on / plug N play

Thanks in advance

Yes, GE is interchangeable with the FE (both 3S block).

Not sure if the 5S-FE and 3S-GE use the same header. You can easily find out at the junkyard if you pull it off and try to fit it on another Gen 2. 5S-FE is a 2.2L inline 4, not a v6. I don't remember the exact info, but IIRC it uses the same block as the 3S and increases displacement with the head, which is why i'm unsure as to whether it will fit. But i doubt you'll get and improvements if you stick the 5S exhaust manifold on as it's designed for economy.

5S-FE is NOT the v6 Camry, V6 Camry uses the 3VZ-FE or the 1MZ-FE, depending on model.

Not too sure, you'll have to wait for someone else to answer or find out yourself at the junkyard. The 3S-GE is 4-2 manifold and the down pipe is 2-1 to the cat. If it's the same in the US, i would assume you'd only need the manifold.

Do you have a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder? If you have the v6, you can't use the GE as that's an i4 engine.

Just my 2c.

The 3s-ge is only available in the US on the '87-'89 Celica GTS. No other car in this country had that motor from the factory.

The 5s-fe exhaust manifold is almost exactly the same as the 3s-fe exhaust manifold. The 3s-ge exhaust manifold is the only stock upgrade you can find without going to an importer. The manifold will bolt up to the head but will require welding to mate it to the rest of the exhaust and you will loose your main (or possibly only) cat. Since you are in CA, this is a problem for passing emissions testing...

You can also get a bolt-on header for the '87-'89 Celica GT (with the 3s-fe, not 3s-ge) from Pacesetter. You will have to get an oxygen sensor bung welded on, but it otherwise works just fine. If you have a later ('90-'91) CA emissions car, you will probably get check-engine lights due to missing the second oxygen sensor on the header unless you put it on there and use an O2 sensor filter circuit... When it comes time for smog, just swap back to the stock manifold for the test.

A few quick corrections:

GE and FE manifolds/etc. often not interchangable, but in the case of some exhaust manifolds, they are.

3s and 5s blocks are slightly different in many subtle ways. The main difference is the increased deck height on the 5s that allows for a longer stroke.
