5th gear problem

i have a problem with my 5th gear it will shift up and down and stay in 5th gear if i hold the stick but when i accelerate and dont hold it , it pops out anybody have any explanation loose cable maybe?

There's a few common possibilities:

1) Your engine/transmission mounts are worn or broken. This causes the engine to move around a lot when the throttle is opened/closed, and if it moves enough it will simply pop out of gear.

2) Internal components in the transmission are worn out, causing it to slip out of gear.
