USA Excessive play in Rack & Pinion ?

I have some play at my right wheel. I have checked the ball joint and tie rod end and they are both good. when I'm moving the wheel side-to-side, I'm seeing the whole arm from the rack & pinion move...( just a lilttle bit ) I'm thinking that I have some worn out parts in the steering system, or could possibly be a bad wheel bearing. However I'm not hearing "any noise" from the right side of the car that would make me believe it's the wheel bearing. I have also just replaced my power steering pump with-in the last 2 months becuase it was leaking. This is why I'm thinking it couild be a steering system problem. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
88' v6 LE

Jack one front tire off the ground and grab it with both hands and try turning it side to side. If it moves you probably have a worn out inner tie rod in the rack. Do this with both front tires. I've found that if you do have worn inner tie rods, its cheapest to just buy a rebuilt rack and pinion or get a good used one and install it. I usually buy them used for a bout $40. One inner tie rod costs more than that.

Put the car up on jack stands & crawl underneath. Check both steering rack bushings by firmly grabbing the rack on the outside of the bushing & try to slide back & forth.
I thought my inner tie rods were bad & paid through the nose to have them replaced, only to find most of the steering issue (vague floaty feeling) was from the bushings.
I couldn't find the parts online & had to go through the dealer. IIRC, they aren't called bushings which is why I couldn't find a replacement.
Pass side bushing can be done at home, bu tisn't much fun. Bottom of the bracket is held on with a nut on a stud, but the top is a bolt & is difficult but not impossible to re-install. I now have scars on the back of my left hand from that one.
