1st & 2nd Generation (1983–1986 & 1987-1991)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1983-1986 & 1987-1991.
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Finally got 2 pairs of 205/50/16s for the Chrysler Sebring wheels I've had for about 2 months now. The fender gap is a bit much, but some Intrax springs will be ordered this summer. The Yakima clips for my rack showed up last Saturday & it took me a while to figure out how to get the rack on. I was used to the old style Q-towers which were much easier to install. This will allow me to get back to the beach & do some surfing again.
I also tinted the front corners, turn signals, rear side markers & tails with some VHT Nite Shades. 5 light coats for each lens. It's tough to see in the bright light, but it made a noticeable difference in how the car looks.
On the down side, it also looks like I'm going to be installing a pass side control arm & bushing and maybe both front wheel bearings in the next month or so.
I have a new 5th gen (not the current style) Camry rear emblem in the mail, so I'll be removing all the rear emblems & installing just CAMRY on the right rear of the trunk lid.

Looks really nice man I always wondered what those sebring rims would look like on a Gen2. A drop would definitely pull the look together. How about a couple more pictures when you get the chance so that we can see how well the fender gap is.
They are standard on most of the newer Sebring convertibles as well as the sedans. If you look at about 20% of the Chryslers, you'll see these rims.
I picked the set up lightly used off craigslist for $125.
For my rack, I had the old style Yakima Q-towers from a long time back. After finding out the hard way that they no longer support clips for the old towers, I waited patiently until a set of used towers with locks showed up on Ebay. He had them listed buy it now for $99 + shipping. You can find new towers on Ebay for around $150 for all 4.
I also got the clips on Ebay for $35 shipped (2 pairs). I had the fairing & 2 different bike holders as well as a surfboard strap for a while now, I jus tdidn't have the towers.
You can find used racks on Craigslist now & then.
I still need to take a better picture so you can see the tinted lenses.

It's a Yakima rack - 48" crossbars, Q-towers with Q-30 clips (4).
I'll have to take a pic of it loaded up with my surfboards one of these days. I'm hoping to make it down to the Outer banks this summer for some bigger surf, but I'll have to take the Land Cruiser so I can drive on the beach.

Those Sebring rims (both sets) look good. Got me thinking, with spacers they'd look good on my Celica, too...
