97 engine/tranny fit into 91

This is probably a no but thought I would ask the experts. I have a 91 4cyl with a bad motor. Will just the block/head from a 97 fit or work. Probably not, spanning 2 many generations. Thanks

As long at it is a 4-cylinder, you can make it fit fairly easily. Verify that your fuel rail will fit on the 5s-fe head (my only large concern going that far between the years).

You will need to run your intake/exhaust manifold and electronics, accessories, etc. but you should be able to make it work. If it is a Camry 4-cyl, you will probably need to remove the balance shafts and replace the oil pan with your 3s-fe oil pan or cut/customize your front-rear engine crossmember.

If the motor is cheap enough, it may be worth it.

The guy wants $250 for the 97 with 75k. The car hit a guardrail hard, air bags deploy etc, on the right front. The engine still runs.

If the block is interchangeable and it will be just parts swap it will be a piece of cake. If the fuel rail don't meet then I just have to find another one?

I forgot to ask him if V6 vs 4 cyl. But it doesn't matter because I called back and it is SOLD.

Thanks white90
