Eliminating rear brakes?

I have a problem with rusted rear brake lines and want to just eliminate them. The car is a beater and I just need it to roll and stop, so this is the cheap fix. I have heard that you can bypass the lines at the proportioning valve on the firewall, but obviously, there isn't much on the web for this.

Anyone have a way to do this or have experience with this? I don't want to put any more effort or cash than I have to into this job.

Hope you never have to inspect it again.

Ohio's inspection is a joke and basically, it's a fix just to sell the motor and get it out of my driveway without a tow truck. I'm not lying to anyone on this and have been in cars with no rears. Works well enough.

Just go the the junkyard and pull some brake lines off another Camry. I don't think many people are game enough to drive with only 2 brakes working when you step on the pedal.

The above advice is good!

I'm not gonna tell you how to do this either!

But it's simple plumbing.

Drove a S10 350 conversion with front brakes only, for about 6 months, Was fun to set at a light and freak the tuner guys out by holding the brakes, hitting WOT and letting the tire howl! Not worth diddly squat stopping on a wet surface though. (didn't stop much better after I fixed them either?)

You mean Ohio has a inspection now?

I know they didn't for years... just at a cops discretion,if he thought the car needed parked... it would be. (you could spot some Ohio cars in other states by the cloud of smoke and trail of rusted parts left behind on the highway in the 50's)

To pass the E-Check, you have to have a cat and pass the emission standards. That's about it.

Looped a brake line in place of the rear brake lines on the proportioning valve and it works like a damn charm. It can now be test driven and driven away.

That's all I needed.
