My parents asked me to have a look at their 1991 Toyota Camry because the cabin air fan wasn't coming on. The only set of fuses I could find was in the relay box next to the battery. I told them it could be a relay, so my dad suggested that I test the relays by shorting the connection on the contact tabs. The first test went fine, but on the second test (I think it was labeled AC Fan 2) I shorted the wrong terminals. The engine shut off. When I turn the key, the lights on the dash come on and the starter turns, but the engine won't start.
What have I screwed up? Where should I start?
Also, I was testing the fuses on the battery cable and learned that the center fuse doesn't actually come out at all. So, I shattered it trying to yank it out. Why make it look exactly like the other two fuses on both sides?
