The coolant temp switch that controls the fan operation is located on the water inlet / thermostat housing. You can find it below the alternator covered by a rubber boot.

With the enging running, try unplugging that connector (it only has one wire going to it) and see if the fans turn on.

Also, if you are doing short trips, the fans may not need to turn on ever. In highway driving, they should never turn on...

Thumbs up

Thanks White 90dx we found it and disconnected and that's not the problem but my brother pulled the no1 relay switch and put it back in and the fn came on so now we have to find out why the ac fan is not working and why the ac is not coming on so I will start with the fuse first do you have any suggestions on where else to look? I really like my toy although it has over 200 thousand miles on it but due to limited funds and now little things are going out on it I may have to sell it and find something else but I will keep fixing those things that I can afford.

When the A/C is on, both fans should be on at half speed, when the fans are on to cool the radiator, they are both on high. The "A/C" and "Main" fans don't have a real meaning...

-Charlie

PS. If one fan is not working, the other fan will run at full speed.

Thanks Charlie I really like this site it is very helpful. Would happen to know why my ac is not coming on it does not light up and the button does not appear to stay in when I push it.
