Unhappy 90 camry runs 5min dies

I have a 90 3sfe that will start and run fine good power but once wormed up it dies if you turn the key off then restart it it will run 5 min then die you can kill the key and refire it and the same thing. the fuel pump does not stop and it will keep fireing untill it stop totaly if u do not turn the key off it will crank good with fire and fuel to the fuel rail but will not start shut the key off and it will start right up and run a min any help would be great

Using paper clip jump T and E1 terminals in diagn. box and check for the trouble codes by counting the blinks of the check engine light [ignition ON engine is not running]
This may provide additional information.

i have checked the codes and there arent any the light comes on with the key and goes out and does not come back on while the car is running

well it is blueish kind of yellow thought thinking the ignitor or pick up may be bad but just pulled the cts and it showed .204 ohms and full operating temp going to fix that first and see were i am at but u are right the spark is a little ifffy

crap

one other guestion if the ignitor or the pick up coil in the dis were going bad could it cause the computer to put the timing off enuff to kill the car the pick up tested .237 ohms on bolth sides from what i have read it should be lower for a 90 model and again any help would be great

The engine will just die if any pickup coils are bad.
Check the timing belt to make sure it is not off.

the timing belt is new car had a head put on it just before i got it belt was put on then compresion is good and it runs great untill it dies you can start it right back up and runs god for about a min then dies again cts did nothing but the fans now work like they should pulled the coil off no cracks but it dose have a stain on the back of it like it has ben getting hot should have a new one later today we will see how that works
