89 camry wiper question

our 89 camry since we bought it used 2 years ago, does not have intermittent wipers or do the stop when they are supposed to.

so i turn on the wiper and turn it off, it stops in the position its in when i turn off the wiper. i have to time it right when the wiper is in its usual resting spot and then turn it off

is it the wiper motor or a relay or even the stalk on the column

I'd say it's the motor.
