master brake cylinder: stopper bolt / ball bearing?

I got a remanufactured brake master cylinder for my 91 V6. The old one had a piston stopper bolt on the bottom, the new one has a ball bearing inside sealing the hole.
Now my question: do I still need to re-install the stopper bolt or has that funtion been taken over by the ball bearing? Off course, if I re-install the bolt then there will be a ball bearing floating around inside the master cylinder.....

I just replaced my master cylinder a week ago... went from the bolt-style one to a ball-bearing style one. No difference that I could tell otherwise. No need to swap anything over, just put on the reservior, bench bleed it (I actually did it in the car with the car's brake lines disconnected), and then hook everything up.

Ah, so the ball bearing does replace the bolt. You did it the smart way with the cylinder mounted in the car and then do the bleeding. A whole lot easier then trying to push with a srewdriver and then trying to put it back in without spilling a bunch of fluid

Yeah. You still have to deal with the fluid seeping out while you put on the hard lines again, but it saves a bunch of hassle. I barely had any air bubbles to bleed, surprisingly... and my girlfriend was a trooper through the whole bleeding process.
