1987 Wagon-Brake upgrades
We have a 1987 Wagon that was built prior to 5/87, and therefore has the problem of warping the front brake rotors. I read a service bulletin at work the other day (tire shop) concerning an upgrade. It changed the rotors to thicker units, the calipers to fit, and the perportioning valve to (I assume) relieve some of the braking load from the fronts.
My question is this: can I swap the old stuff for the later-in-the-model year (manufactured after 5/97) stuff and get the advantages? I have a teenage daughter who's going to start driving this car in about a month, and I really don't feel like turning the rotors every 90 days or so to keep the thing from shaking itself to pieces.
Thanks in advance!!
