91 DX (Throwin a used tranny in on my own)

So I'm replacing my blown trannny with a used one that looks like it's in pretty good shape. I've just about got the original out but thought I'd throw a note out there to see if anybody's got some tips. It seems that I'm going to really have to support the engine before taking the final bolts off the housing. Just hoping for some expert advice. Anything would be helpful I'm sure. Seeing as how I've never pulled an auto tranny out of a vehicle. Done plenty of manuals but those are easy.

Thanks

Well I got the new tranny installed. I basically had to take the whole front of the car apart but it actually went pretty well. I had one question regarding all the connectors and plugs ect that are located around the battery starter area. I have everything hooked up that has a place to go but I have two connectors that don't seem to have a place to hook up to. When I pulled the original transmission out I didn't pay attention to know whether they were plugged in some where or not. Just wondering if I have a slightly differnet transmission or something.

Do you know what year that tranny came from? There's the A140E or A140L transmission for the Gen2 (4cyl). One came with Norm/Pwl button by the transmission selector in your car and the other one didn't come with that option.

Try looking at the badge by the firewall for the transmission model that came with the car.

Thanks. I noticed one of the plugs was for the starter so it's just the one plug that doesn't seem to have a home. I'm pretty sure the tranny came out of 91 but I'll double check. I appreciate the info. If all it is the pwr or normal button I guess that ain't no big deal.
