Strange Sound ..Help

Hi all;

After driving and the engine is shut off.. i can hear a light continuous buzzing sound that to me seems to be coming from the charcoal cannister... The sound usually lasts about 10 secs after engine is shut off.. & it happens infrequently ... I've made small checks to see if fuel is escaping thru a bad hose ... but as far as i can see... i see nothing of the sort... What would this mean if it were the charcoal cannister makign this sound..?

I have a sound coming from my charcoal canister too, don't know what it is though. Mine sounds like a fast bubbling/siphoning sound.

I'd bump this.

I have this also for my camry and I never really figured this out. This is from a '85 Camry 2SE engine.

Maybe it's telling us to replace. After all, it's probably the same one that came with the car off the assembly line.

Well, the general purpose of a charcoal cannister is to store the gasoline fumes left over after the engine is shut off and re-used via the intake mani upon engine start up the next time. I'd have to give Toyota Jamaica (our dealer here) for a quote.
