Replacing Rear Speakers in 91 Camry

Hi, I was wondering if anybody knew of some speakers that fit in the rear of a 1991 Toyota Camry. Or could somebody at least tell me the maximum mounting depth that it will accept. The reason I'm asking this is because I wanted 5 1/4" Infinity Reference Speakers for my car but crutchfield said they wouldn't fit.

Edit: I just looked in my car and I'm pretty sure it has 6.5" speakers in it... is crutchfield wrong telling me that it takes 5 1/4" speakers?

pull the rear seat then the deck out, use it as a template on a piece of hardboard and cut it out, vents and all, paint or carpet it and get some 6x9 speaker adaptor stands and put them right up against the seat cushion, trim the metal with snips if needed and bolt it all together and slide it into place, ive done this twice, use the black plastic adaptors and use carpet pieces to keep it from rattling against the metal

Okay thanks. Thats for 6 x 9's right? What about just regular 6.5's, do they require modification to put it?

6x9, yes, the back deck is very flimsey, just make a new one because good speakers will make it fall apart

Well I got some time to investigate and the car already had these speakers in the back so I'm sure 6.5" References will fit but thanks for your help everyone. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_133CJDD...ures_and_specs
