I have a plan (warning: long post)

As some of you may remember I had a fuel filter issue (or so i thought) a few months ago that caused the motor to quit. Well I still have that problem and my car is still dead. I've been driving my Miata, but auto-crossing and track days have taken its toll on it and it has a blown head gasket, plus winter is coming in a few months (at least in Washington state) and I'm gonna need to have this thing running while the Miata's getting either rebuilt or getting a swap in the winter.

Mechanically the car is 95% and all that is wrong is a left control arm (or it could be a bushing, i need to take a look), it has a ricer exhaust, and a clogged fuel filter...well i just know that it's a fuel problem, and it might be a pump. I did try to replace the fuel filter but that thing just won't come off. Any way to tell whether it's a pump or a filter? It could be a clogged injector but I figured it would at least run if it was an injector, or even 2 injectors. Again, is there anyway to diagnose the problem?

My plan for this thing is to fix it up and clean it up and sell it. The paint on it is in terrible shape but I got lucky one time when I went with my friend to the junkyard and found a camry in the same color that was smashed from the side but had good bumpers, hood and a trunk. I dominated it and bought all of those things for like 95 bucks. Replacing them onto my car will certainly add some value since mine have no clearcoat and a million rockchips. And since the roof has no clear coat I'm gonna do my best at prepping and rattlecanning. I also acquired some 16" VW wheels with all season tires for $150 with the same 5x100 bolt pattern; so those will be going on without the center caps. The interior is in perfect shape and just needs cleaning up, plus it's got a pioneer head unit with mp3 and auxiliary. I'm hoping to get some decent money out of it since it won't look all that bad.

Anyway, please help me out with the fuel problem. It's the only thing that's keeping me from driving it. And also let me know what you think of my plan. Don't hate me cause I want to sell it. I just want something different, with less miles, and in a RWD configuration (been keeping my eyes on an e36 328 beemer)

cheers
