Distributor Tear Down Question

Working on the V6 to correct the mis-fire. Took apart the distributor and removed it. I'm currently trying to disassemble the main components to remove the internal o-ring, unfortunately I can't seem to remove the insert from the shaft.

It looks to me like a simple brass punch would work and allow the entire assembly to be pulled out exposing the o-ring. The trouble is I can't get that 'pin' to move. Is there something special I need to do to get access to the internal O-ring?

Just found the rebuild kit offered by kbox and it includes the pin I'm trying to pop out. What I'll probably end up doing is just drilling it out and then tapping in the new one or get it pressed.

This is very eye-opening for me, as I've never had to fiddle with my dizzy...even though the Camster is at almost 400,000km. I have pulled a couple of spare (low-mileage) distributors over the years, but I've never stripped them down. Maybe it's time to get curious. Thanks for the update on your post...

Distributor is currently at the machine shop getting the bearing, seal, and pin removed/installed. Will update tomorrow when I pick it up.
