87 Camry LE 3sfe automatic. 200K+ miles.
Went to take swmbo to work this morning and the car cranked about 4 times, started for a second, then backfired and quit. All it'll do now is start for a second then die, no more backfires. It's raining cats and dogs here, so I haven't been able to check it out yet. It seems to be getting fire and fuel due to the 10 second run time, I'm leaning toward an air flow or sensor problem. Thought I'd ask while it's still raining in case someone has a idea. I tried search and found nothing that matched my problem, but that might be because of my idiocy.
So any ideas?
It's/was the only vehicle we have running, so it's needed.
Thanks in advance.
FIXED!
The hose was off at the throttle body, took the top off the air box to check the filter, and noticed there was more movement than there should have been. fire fuel and air (too much air at that)
