My car stalls out in the rain. Help!

I have an 89 Camry that stalls out in the rain. It will start up fine and drive perfectly until it warms up a little bit, enough to start blowing heat, at this point it will idle rough, stall when accelerating from a stop, and will barely start once it stalls. After it warms up to operating temperature it runs fine, usually for the rest of the day even if it sits for a while and cools off. I am leaning towards putting a new ignition coil, cap, plug wires, and distributor rotor on it since i haven't done that in the five years i've owned it and it is most likely causing the problem. But i don't want to just throw parts at it. does anyone know of anything else i should check first?

Coil for sure if it stalls out when there's wet weather.

I forgot to mention that it hasn't set any codes. is that typical for a bad coil?

I wouldn't rely on the ODB for everything. Take the dizzy apart and look at the coil, no doubt there will be a crack on it letting in moisture.

so after waiting for the rain to stop in Michigan so i could change the coil then waiting for the rain to come back to see if i still had a problem, it looks like a new coil fixed it. I've driven around in the rain the last two days without a problem. The coil had no cracks that i could see but it was discolored in one spot. Thanks for the help Jimnist and Turboman412
